As for the launcher - their new one is an attempt to improve on the old one which lacked basic features a mod manager needs, the rollout is pretty poor obviously, but with patching it will be a better alternative to the old one. There are certain areas where things can be tweaked or fleshed out by modders that improves the experience but overall they did well with the base game. I wouldn't say the game needs mods to be enjoyable. This is one of the few games I've seen where mods aren't just adding "flavor" to the game, but actively undoing all of CA's ♥♥♥♥ ups.
The launcher is so bad with these mods, other launchers have to be used. The game is so bad it has to be fixed with mods to make it even remotely enjoyable
For that you can use Kaedrin's to find and delete them manually. Other than the standard of failure to remove unsubscribed mods. I haven't had any issue with their new launcher, because I haven't used it at all.
